Was inspired by a post over at Joy's Victory Garden to snap off some salad burnet this week, chop it up a bit and drop it in to my usual evening blend of sparkling water, cranberry and pomegranate juice. (If you're unfamiliar with the health benefits of these juices, then read here and here for starters. Measuring the fuel costs associated with transporting the juices against my possibly taking meds later that taint the water supply, well...I'm sticking with the juice for now. Go ahead...call me crazy selfish.)
Back to the recipe...the mix was a terrific blend...very, very cooling. Perfect for summer days.
Incidentally, I'd picked up salad burnet to go in our garden after reading it was one of the few ways to get fern-like leaves into a Central Texas landscape. Ours is nestled among the tomato plants and has done well there...they like a bit of shade.
