Welcome!

This is the original RW&G blog, which has moved to redwhiteandgrew.com. With over 500 posts, there's lots to explore here... but I do hope you'll visit the new site, too.

(Central) Texas Garden Tweeps Round Up

For grins, I thought I'd whip up a list of (Central) Texas gardeners who use Twitter.com. Initially this was a list strictly for Central Texas...but over time I've opened it up a wee bit to include more the state. Hence, (Central) Texas.

I've said before that I think social media can be a useful tool in promoting victory gardens and other sustainability initiatives, and I hope that other tweeple will follow suit and create lists in their own regions.

As winter turns to spring, more folks will hit the Google in search of information. It'd be nice if they made useful connections, too. (Believe it or not, I've provided garden advice via both Facebook and Twitter... so trust me when I say there's real potential here.)

I'm going to throw out some names off the top o' my noggin, and ask that y'all contribute others as you see fit. Feel free to add your own name! (And I since I'm writing this post very quickly, I'll apologize in advance for omissions!)

In no particular order:

@reneesroots - Renee Studebaker is a garden blogger for Austin American-Statesman
@dasparky - Deborah tweets good stuff and blogs over at Farm Natters.
@annieinaustin - Austin-based Annie tweets, sings and gardens.
@broylesa - Technically a foodie, Addie Broyles (also an AAS writer) is turning into a gardener, too.
@punkgardener - Heather was one of the first followers of RW&G, and I still find her POV refreshing and engaging.
@ZanthanGardens - A South Austin garden blogger with quite a following!

If you want a bigger list of gardening tweeps to follow nationwide, check yesterday's post re: #greenthumbs.

N.B. When I decided to post this, I was thinking of gardening tweeps exclusively, but I want y'all to know that others who are concerned about other sustainable living matters are certainly welcome to post their Twitter addresses here. Just please indicate your area(s) of interest.

Oh, and gardeners at all levels of experience are welcome--from newbies to professionals.
