UPDATE: I've decided to keep this thread open indefinitely with a link at the top of every page. Personally, I quite like the idea of people sharing their blogs through mine. So feel free to add your blog to this list.
We've got a new White House kitchen garden. We've got rising media interest in home gardens. Now we need to get mobilized to convert the folks beyond the choir (so to speak).
To that end, I'm creating an official RW&G registry of blogs that reflect genuine enthusiasm for victory/kitchen/freedom/recession gardening. You need not be a "garden blogger" per se, but you should post regularly on the topic of gardening. (For example, you might be a mommy blogger or urban homesteader who documents how her garden is doing.)
Ultimately, the registry will be a "welcome wagon" of sorts for new gardeners. The final product should include gardeners at every skill level; we want to demonstrate that gardening is an acquirable life-skill!
This will also be an "open" registry. You're not going to create a User ID, give a password, or learn a secret handshake. Nope, all you have to do is provide the following information in the Comments section of this post:
Name (nom de web is fine):Blog Name:Blog URL: http://Location (City, State OR State):Setting (Urban, Suburban, Rural):Gardening Skill Level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced):
Now, here's the kicker: One lucky registrant will win a FREE pass to Horticulture Magazine's "8 Great Veggies Online Workshop" (Tuesday, March 31; 1 PM EST). This is a $50 value. Fine print: If you want a shot at the freebie, you have to submit your information to the registry by 7:00 PM EST on Tuesday, March 24. (And y'all know that I never give stuff away...but this is pretty awesome! So sign up!!) [UPDATE: And the winner is....Inch By Inch, Row By Row! Given the phenomenal response, I'm going to keep the registry open.]
One other note: I plan to select a few blogs from the new registry to feature here on a new blogroll and at Redwhiteandgrew.com. Blogger.com ate my old one, so I figure there's no time like the present. If you want a shot at being included here (and priority will go to long-time readers), better register ASAP!
